the charity show for the SZECHUAN EARTHQUAKE just ended. and i feel for the victims. the manymany stories shared, the love, the tears, the blood, the sweat.
i cried real badly for one of the stories shared. it went like this...
the rescue team cleared the rubble. and there, they saw this young lady in a 'crouched' position. when they moved the lady away, they found a baby, around 4 months old. sleeping in his mum's warmth and protection. he survived. & in that lady's hand, they found a phone. a message was written: baby, if you survived, i want to let you know that mummy loves you.
many schools in szechuan have collapsed cuz of the EQ. there was this school, who always had those very smart people. in one of the TOP classes. 9 out of 67 survived. there was this girl, found in the rubble of the collapsed school, still holding a pencil in her hand.
the stories shared set me thinking. im living in this peaceful place, with no disasters, no riots and everything. & yet im taking things for granted. i should treasure and cherish everything i have. the children there dosent have a proper place to study, & looking at wht we have in singapore. we shld treasure wht we have now and studyhard. we should be glad that we're living heree. just look at them, we so much more fortunate.
